Elizabeth “Betty” Bohner, RN

  • Annunciation Byzentine Catholic Church 995 North West Street Anaheim, CA, 92801 United States (map)

We honor the life and legacy of Betty Ann Vasko Bohner, a remarkable nurse, manager, and military spouse whose leadership and compassion touched countless lives. Betty was more than a department administrator at Kaiser Garden Grove Medical Office—she was the heart of the operation. Her excellence and precision were reminiscent of a well-organized MASH unit. In place of Major Houlihan, we had Betty Bohner—a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering dedication.

She was there: When the building had no plumbing or electricity, Betty had a solution. When chaos reigned, she brought calm, order, and a potluck feast the next day. When her team needed support, she was already there—proactive, positive, and prepared.

Betty didn’t just manage a facility; she nurtured a community. Everyone was welcome—EVS, landscapers, nurses, doctors, and anyone who helped keep the doors open. She made sure they were cared for, fed, and appreciated.

As members of the Nurse Honor Guard, we wear the white uniform and cap to symbolize the purity of purpose and the legacy of Florence Nightingale. We carry the lamp, a beacon of healing and hope, which Betty carried with distinction throughout her career.

May Betty rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved, profoundly respected, and will never be forgotten.
