Veterans Day is a time to honor those who have served our country and to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. Nurses have long stood beside service members in military hospitals, field settings, veterans’ facilities, and communities, providing care during times of conflict, recovery, and peace.

For the Nurse Honor Guard Southern California, attending Mass together offers an important opportunity to pause from our role of caring for others and reflect on service, sacrifice, compassion, and remembrance. It also allows us to stand visibly beside our fellow nurses, including those who have served in the military or cared for veterans, and remind our nursing community that we support one another not only in times of loss, but throughout our lives and careers.

Our presence represents the heart of the Nurse Honor Guard: nurses honoring nurses, supporting one another, and recognizing a lifetime of service.
