Her professional experience included service at: UCLA Westwood Country Villa, South Convalescent Center, Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center, Memorial Hospital of Gardena, Community Hospital of Huntington Park

Terri's nursing practice touched many areas of healthcare, including Emergency Services, Pediatrics, Hospice Care, and Convalescent Care. No matter the setting, she approached her work with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those in her care.

She was known among colleagues, patients, and loved ones for her compassion, empathy, physical and mental stamina, and commitment to lifelong learning. As an experienced emergency room nurse, she generously invested in the next generation of caregivers by training and mentoring new nurses, sharing her knowledge with patience and encouragement.

Terri chose nursing because it provided an opportunity to care for others while maintaining a strong foundation for raising her children and supporting her family. She loved helping her patients through difficult moments and found great joy in seeing them recover and return home. Her confidence, skill, and willingness to teach made nursing appear effortless, inspiring those around her to learn and grow.

One particularly meaningful aspect of her career was serving at hospitals connected to her own family's story, including the hospital where her son, Donte, was born and later the hospital where her granddaughter, Alaysja, was born. These moments brought her personal and professional worlds together in a profound way.

Beyond her formal nursing duties, Terri was often the first-person family and friends called during times of illness, injury, or uncertainty. She freely offered guidance, reassurance, and support whenever it was needed. She encouraged family members to pursue careers in healthcare and was especially passionate about inspiring future nurses.

Throughout her career, Terri upheld the values of professionalism, patient confidentiality, dignity, and respect. At the same time, her lighthearted spirit helped ease fear and anxiety, making patients and families feel comfortable during some of their most challenging moments.

Terri earned the respect of her peers not only for her clinical abilities but for the grace with which she practiced nursing. Her legacy lives on through the countless patients she comforted, the nurses she mentored, and the family and community she inspired.

We will remember Terri Marquetti as a nurse who served with excellence and grace.
